We hope you all enjoyed your adventures in Bruid! With the monster room neatly packed away and packs processed, and event team (mostly) recovered, we’ve got some important announcements:
We’d like your feedback on “A Season of Reinforcement”
The event team want to make Five Oaths the best game it can be, and an important part of that is getting feedback from our players and monsters. Any feedback, positive or negative, helps us to figure out what’s working and what needs tweaking, so please let us know what you think by filling out a feedback form. This time, our feedback form will also ask your opinion on trying out a different format of event next year, potential changes to gathering and crafting, and the role of information and secrets in the game (among other things), so if you have strong opinions on those things please let us know
We’re also sourcing feedback on a potential new team member
As some of you may remember from last year, we have implemented a procedure where we check in with our players whenever we invite a new person to join event team. The purpose of this is to give players an opportunity to raise any concerns you might have about the potential team member’s behaviour, past or present, at Five Oaths or elsewhere, before they are given access to the sensitive information we hold about players or a position of power in our club. For example, you might let us know if they’ve breached our code of conduct and you have not previously reported it, or you know them to have acted inappropriately in another volunteer role. While we will take note of any issues of personal preference for future reference, we are only considering issues of player inclusion and safety when making our final decision.
As you might have noticed, Síofra Ní Lochlainn (see picture) was wearing the (fast becoming traditional) L-Plate hi-vis jacket of the provisional event team member at our most recent event. She has been working with the Event Team to write, organise, and run A Season of Reinforcement, and we would like to invite her to join as a full member of the team.
So, if you have any concerns about Síofra joining us, please let us know. These reports would be treated in the strictest confidence, and can be made anonymously via this link.
While it may be necessary to relay the contents of these reports to Síofra, particularly if there is something we feel she should respond to, she will not be given access to the raw reports, and we will endeavour to maintain their anonymity. Please don’t use this form to tell us that you think Síofra is great and you loved one of her encounters, put that in the feedback form at the top of this post so we can share it with her later
We’ll be keeping the form open for 1 week, closing at 23:59 on the 13th of June, after which time we will review any reports that have been received, and make our decision.
