As you may or may not have been aware, at our last event one of our permanent monster crew, Aonghus Collins, stepped into an expanded role and helped the team with running the event – for anyone who doesn\u2019t know Aonghus, you might have noticed him wearing a hi-vis with an L plate attached<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on his help at the last event, Five Oaths would like to invite Aonghus to join the event team, however before doing that we wanted to give you, the players, the opportunity to raise any concerns you might have with his past or current behaviour, whether at Five Oaths or otherwise. These reports would be treated in the strictest confidence, and can be made anonymously via this link<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While it may be necessary to relay the contents of these reports to Aonghus, particularly if there is something we feel he should respond to, he will not be given access to the raw reports, and we will endeavour to maintain their anonymity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For anyone curious or surprised that we\u2019re taking this step, it doesn\u2019t in any way reflect on concerns we have about Aonghus – in fact, this whole step was his idea (and he wrote the first draft of this post). This is more to do with the general problem of \u201cmissing stairs<\/a>\u201d, and our desire not to unintentionally elevate someone into a position of authority over someone they might abuse their position against.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While we will take note of any issues of personal preference for future reference, we are only considering issues of player inclusion and safety as potential reasons to not bring Aonghus on board<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ll be keeping the form open for 1 week, closing at 23:59 on the 22nd of July, after which time we will review any reports that have been received, and make our decision. We apologise for the short timeframe here, but in the event that we are bringing Aonghus on board, we\u2019d like to do so sooner rather than later, so that he can help out with planning our September event (Save the date! 6-8th September).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
